Company Background

C.A. Curtze Company located in Erie, PA is a full line wholesale food service distributor. In addition to canned goods, frozen foods, paper products, chemicals, equipment, supplies and other staples, C.A. Curtze Company is a wholesale grocer featuring fine fresh meat, fresh seafood and fresh produce. Specialty Steak, the fresh meat division of Curtze, expanded in 1992 to its present 75,000 sq. ft. production facility.

Situation

Having several companies located throughout Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and New York states, Curtze Foods required a central location for their business servers. Sales agents from each company were required to send and receive critical information to central servers for separate ERP systems.

Solution

Distributed Network Software (DNS) collocates several enterprise servers for C.A.Curtze Foods consisting of email addresses, websites, web applications, faxing and ftp sites located in the commercial hosting facility at DNS. DNS’s environmentally controlled hosting facility is supported by an 85KW generator, three-layer fire, access-control and burglar protection. DNS provides Microsoft Windows 2003 Domain Name Service, intrusion monitoring and detection as well as firewall protection for Curtze Foods.
